This FAQ should be found only on: There are many new features to this DS hit, including Nintendo Wifi connection, new tools, items, events, and things to do so you'll keep coming back for more. However, one question is often asked, something essential to paying off that great rent that Nook left you and your unfurnished, tiny home. How do we make money?

This FAQ here is to explain just that.

Money Making Guide cheats for Animal Crossing: New Leaf on 3DS

Granted, there's no way to make a ton of money quickly, but I'm sure that there will be some strategies here that will help your finances and feed that hungry wallet.

That shouldn't last you very long. The first thing you want to do is complete all of Nook's tasks at the store. You're not going to earn any money for this although your total mortgage will decrease , but we'll now be able to buy and sell things from his store. There are only two places that you can sell items.

Those places are Nook's store and the Able Sisters. The Able Sisters will only by clothing and accessories, so Nook will be the main place to sell all the crap you don't need. First thing you should do after being able to buy stuff from Nook is to get tools.

The most important tools are the shovel, fishing rod, and net. It's not exactly the best way to earn quick money, but it can be helpful. Sometimes, animals will just give you items for talking to them. I mean, they seriously just give them to you. It's nice when that happens, but it doesn't occur all the time.

You should be talking to your animal neighbors every day, or whenever possible. Just don't talk to them 20 times in a row or they'll be asking why you're stalking them.

Once in a while, the animal will have an exclamation point over their heads and approach you. This means that they want to talk to you. Sometimes, they'll give you a quiz depending on their personality and if you answer their questions right, they'll give you items. If you answer them wrong, nothing will happen. You can sell the items that you get from them, AND they'll be listed in your catalog at Nook's. Of course, an exclamation point doesn't always mean quiz time.

They could just be showing you some stupid letter that they got. Favors When you talk to animals, they will sometimes ask you to do them a favor or challenge you to a competition. Return to the favor giving animal for a reward. When you have something to do for an animal, when you talk to them a new choice "How're you doing? Select this if you forgot what you were supposed to do for the animal. Unlike in the GameCube version, there's no way to ask to do a favor for an animal.

Letters If you have some spare time on your hands, buy some paper from Tom Nook cost for a four-pack and write to a villager. In your letter, don't just write jibberish. Use simple words or phrases such as your town name, a certain event, a villagers name, or an item. New Year's Eve party at Hopper, let's go to Tom Nook! From Name" Oh, did I mention it doesn't have to make sense? Just make sure you don't write jibberish.

Letters aren't for nothing.

If you want something in a villager's house, attach a piece of furniture to your mail and send it. The furniture that you send will hopefully replace something in their house. So if you want their wallpaper, send wallpaper to them. If you want their TV, attach a carboard box. If you're unlucky or sent a nasty letter the game does understand expletives , it'll just be a new addition to their home and you won't get anything.

If you want anything in particular such as a non-native fruit! If you don't get the furniture that you want, try looking in the recycling bin and the Town Hall. Also, note that animals won't give up a shirt on their back, unless they ask for a different one. Don't miss out on them! Magic Rock One of your rocks in the town will turn red when hit with a shovel or axe. Hit it as many times as you can in a time limit so money bags will come out. The money bags will come out as follows: Quite a hefty profit in a short time.

You won't get much from the rock if you don't know how to hit it. Each time you hit the rock whether with the axe or shovel, you'll move back a bit. The trick it to make two holes, one to the left and one above you.

Position yourself so that each time you hit the rock, you move back into the holes. Don't make more that two though or you won't be able to get the maximum amount of money bags. Shaking Trees Not the fruit trees. Three has beehives, two have furniture, and the rest have Bell bags. If you have less than 12 non-fruit trees in your town, then the bees will take priorety, then furniture. The Bells and furniture is nice, but the main reason you want to shake trees is to get the bees.

Bees are hard to catch, but sell for a nice bells each. Once you get a net, keep it in the very top left slot of your item pack. Shake a tree and as soon as the beehive comes out, run south a bit. Quickly tap the menu button, then equip the net.

Exit with the stylus and then tap A as fast as you can. If you're lucky, you'll catch it. If not, well, maybe next time. There's no penalty for getting stung by bees. Your villagers will just think that you're nuts. The bruise on your eye will disappear after turning off the game or putting some medicine on it. Fossils and Buried Items Every day, there will be three or so strange looking dents on the ground of your town. Dig these up with the shovel and you'll discover an item! If nobody buried anything in your town, it will be either a fossil, gyroid, or pitfall trap.

Pitfall traps are worthless; store them or dump them in the trash. Gyroids make funky noises and dance to the music at your house. They sell for each. For fossils, go to Blathers first and have him examine them. If it's a duplicate or you don't want to give it to him, you can sell it.

Most uncommon fossils will sell for at least a few thousand bells. Garbage and Lost and Found Not the best thing to do for money, but make sure that when you visit the Town Hall, check inside the garbage dump.

Sometimes, you'll find a few pieces of furniture. Same thing with the Lost and Found at your town gate. However, more often than not there will just be crap.

Go find her and she'll sell white and red turnips. What you want is white turnips. Red turnip seeds cost Bells and sell for , but you must water it every day.

It can be a hassle for those who don't play every day. There's a better use for a red turnip anyway, see another FAQ for the trading quest. Joan refers to turnips as the "stalk market".

She will sell turnips at a random price. Lowest I've seen is 93, highest being You can buy turnips in bunches. After you buy your turnips, wait another day and talk to Nook. Ask him for turnip prices stalk market closed sundays. He'll give you a random buying price. If it's higher than what you bought, you can sell the turnips that you have and make a profit.

There are several problems with this. The first thing is that it's assumed that you already have money on you. Secondly, Nook may not give you a price high enough for you to make a profit at all, so you may end up losing money.

The white turnips will rot after one week, making them worth nothing. There is ONE way to get past rotting white turnips though, but it involves a glitch. In your house, put down a table.

Now drop an item that you can stand on such as paper or a shovel. Stand on it, face the table and drop the turnips. The turnips should end up on the table. As long as they're on the table, they will never rot. Nook changes his prices after noon and after midnight.

From what I've seen, he usually has high insanely high prices in the morning. In my opinion, I don't really like the stalk market.

Because, y'know, I don't feel liek waiting forever for a nice turnip price to come up or buy tons of tables to hold the turnips. Still a great way to make money, but requires some patience.

After you get a net and fishing rod, you're ready to start catching some wildlife in your town. While there are a lot of common animals, there are also rare ones that sell for many bells and Tom Nook's. I recommend that you first deliver new species to the museum though. At the beach, you'll find seashells. If you're in a desperation to find money, you can always clear off the beach of these shells and get a hefty Bells of so.

That means no Coelacanth during winter. An orchard is basically a town filled with fruit trees and few to none normal trees. As you must know, the fruits that you start with native fruit sells for only Bells.

Foreign fruit sells for a whopping Bells apiece. To plant fruit trees, you must bury the fruit with the shovel. There's always the problem of getting foreign fruit though. For those with wifi, you can run into someone else's town and take some fruits from them, with premission of course.

If you don't have it, you're not out of luck. Just pack some native fruit into letters and send them along with a short message to the villagers of your town. If you're lucky, they'll send you some forein fruit in return. You can also find coconuts along the beach.

Make sure that if you're going to plant them, plant them near or on the beach. Make sure you keep the trees 1 or more spaces apart, not right next to each other.

Not only will this make it easier for you to pick fruit, it will give you a higher town rating. Wait a few days for the trees to grow. If your trees aren't growing, plant them in different spots. For some reason, some spots just won't allow trees to grow.

After you have your orchard blooming, just harvest the fruits and sell them. You'll gain Bells for each trip assuming you have empty pockets and can make over , Bells in a day. The only setback to this is that you'll need a lot of time to shake all those trees and carry the fruit back. I personally use this method, though I don't usually clear my entire town in one day.

You can sell items. If you have a complete set, you can sell the items for over , bells. People also like to buy golden items besides shovel, since it's easy to get. Golden items can go for over , Bells. If you're going to sell items, I'd recommend that you do it in your town. Drop your item first, and the buyer will pick it up. If the buyer doesn't drop the payment afterwards, power off before they could leave so they get nothing. Selling items is always a nice, easy way to earn money, but as usual when meeting people online, there are risks.

If you really want to be safe, do this with only someone you trust. It works, but there can be a bit risky. You've been warned, so don't come to me if it doesn't work.

Furniture, hats, bells , K. If you are the guest: Go to your friends town and inform them with their part see if you are the host section Step 2: After your friend saves the first time, drop the items that you would like to duplicate. When your friend picks them up and saves the second time you turn off the power after 6 and a half to 7 turns a little off and it'll still work Check to see if you both have the items.

If you are the host: Make sure you have no items with you. After your friend drops the item s you save. Check to see if you both have the item s. If you do not like to TT, then don't do it. I didn't discover this trick. Get 50, Bells or more and deposit it in the bank. Reset the INGAME CLOCK to January 1, Change the DS CLOCK to the year , any date.

Start the game, then save and reset. Change the DS CLOCK to the year Start the game and read the mail. You'll collect some interest. Change the DS CLOCK 11 more years ahead. Start the game, collect 99, interest. Continue setting the DS clock 11 years ahead until you reach Change it back to and do the same thing. The first 11 years won't get you as much, though.

The one setback to this trick is that you will get tons of weeds in your town. I hope that it helped you on your road to riches.
